The Meta formerly known as Facebook was founded in 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg after 17 years Meta now used by almost 3 billion people around the world.

Zuckerberg said “Meta” comes from the Greek term for “beyond,” and is meant to symbolize that “there is always more to build, there is always a next chapter to the story.”
It is time for us to adopt a new company brand to encompass everything that we do,” he said. “From now on, we’re going to be metaverse first, not Facebook first as said by Mark Zuckerberg
The name change announcement comes just a weeks after a former Facebook product manager “Frances Haugen” accused Facebook of “choosing to prioritize its profits over people”.
