Manila, Philippines – Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) will officially adopt four-point play in the next season of Governor’s Cup that start on August 18, 2024.
Ricky Vargas, the newly elected chairman said that the four-point shot is the new changes that will implement this season 49. There will be additional arc measuring 27 feet equivalent of 4-point shot. The three-point line will stay which measure 23 feet.
Four-point shot already practice by PBA in All Star Game in Bacolod in which Robert Bolick scored a 5-point play after being fouled and got the bunos free-throw.
PBA only had 12 teams and group into two group A composed of current Philippine Cup champion Meralco, North Port and Magnolia along with TNT, Terrafirma and Converge while Group B composed of Barangay Ginebra, San Miguel and NLEX along with Rain or Shine, Phoenix and Blackwater.
