LeBron James only needs 9 points to set 40,000 career points. James reaches the milestone at 10:39 mark in the second quarter scoring 9 points with a left handed layup to become the first NBA player to reach the 40k point-mark.

Despite the loss LeBron James finished the game with 26 points, 9 assists and 4 rebounds playing 37 minutes. James now had a total of 40,017 points in counting after the game.
