Ancestral House still Stands despite the strong Typhoon “Rai” Odette

  

One of the house in Southern part of Cebu is trending because despite the Strong Typhoon “Rai” locally named Odette devastated the entire Southern, Cebu still stands with no damage. The house is located in Candaguit, Sibonga, Cebu in which the typhoon made the 8th landfall in neighboring town Carcar Cebu at 10:00pm.

If you could remember Cebu already had the worst Typhoon that hit the Cebu province “Typhoon Mike” or local name as Typhoon Ruping in the year 1990 but that house still standing.

Based on the post the house was built in the 1930s by the late spouses Samuel Amores (brother of my maternal grandfather Narciso Amores) and Leonila Tenebro (niece of my maternal grandmother Leona Tenebro) has withstood against all the severest storms that hit Southern Cebu, including super typhoon Odette.

Some netizens commented that the house is protected by spirits, some says that they used a strong foundation or made by quality woods. Other said their grand parents still living in the house.
