After 15 days of competition, the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou, China came to an end with a brilliant Closing Ceremony at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre Stadium. There are 45 nations participating in this event, opening ceremonies are on Saturday, September 23, 2023 and ended on Sunday, October 8, 2023. Host China finished at the top of the table with 383 medals which included 201 gold medals, 111 silver medals and 71 bronze medals.

Philippines finished 17th place with 4 gold, 2 silver, and 12 bronze medals, for a total of 18 medals, including the historic gold medal for the Men’s basketball team. Philippines finished last 2018 Asian games with 21 total medals.

Why is it 2022 Asian games but it happened in 2023?

The 19th Asian Games which has held in Hangzhou, People’s Republic of China, from 23 September to 8 October 2023. Officially known as the 2022 Asian Games, it was called 2022 Asian Games because of the postponement by a year due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, Asian Games happened every 4 years.
