Since the Philippines joined the Olympics in 1920’s this is the most medal the country ever had with 4 medals. This is also the first Gold Medal for the Philippines after Hidilyn Diaz snatch it in Weightlifting. Diaz also received a lot of rewards from the government and some individuals.
Tokyo Olympics 2021 is the best year of the Philippines for bagging 4 medals 3 from Boxing and 1 for the first ever Gold Medal by Hidilyn Diaz in Weightlifting. Carlo Paalam and Nesthy Petecio both take home with a silver medal while Eumir Marcial also secured a bronze medal in boxing category.
