Ernest John “EJ” Obiena our pride in pole vault bounced back and take home the gold medal at the Orlen Copernicus Cup in Torun, Poland on Monday (Manila time).

Obiena started with a 5.50 meters clearance in just one try and cleared 5.80 meters in three attempts, Obiena tried to vault higher at 5.85 meters but he couldn’t make a successful clearance.
Hometown bet Piotr Lisek won the silver medal after clearing 5.70 meters. Norway’s Sondre Guttormsen also cleared 5.70 meters but took home bronze due to a countback. This marks second gold medal for Obiena’s of the 2025 indoor season.
