Manila, Philippines – Canada recorded their first ever medal in Fiba World Cup as they shut down the powerhouse men USA Basketball team at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Canada will take home the Bronze medal after defeating the power house Team USA (127-118) in overtime, Dillon Brooks led Canada with 39 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added a double- double with 31 points, 12 assists and 6 rebounds.
Anthony Edwards led USA with 24 points and 5 rebounds, USA finished in 4th place in the Fiba World Cup 2023 a bit higher than previous with 7th place in Fiba World Cup 2019 in China.
