Eala already made history by becoming the first Filipino to reach the final four of a Women’s Tennis Association 1000 event and making it to the top 100 of WTA rankings, before she advance to semis, Eala defeated three Grand Slam champions in Jelena Ostapenko (Round of 64) and eliminate Madison Keys (Round of 32) and defeated against World No. 2 Iga Swiatek on March 27, which made her advance to the semi-final.
